Get Involved with Your Precinct

The precinct is the cornerstone of the North Carolina Democratic Party. Participating at the precinct level offers you opportunities for greater involvement at county, district, and state levels. Precinct leaders serve as delegates to the county convention, submit resolutions, and are eligible to vote for the leadership of the party.

Precincts are also the grassroots of the Democratic Party — local volunteers talking neighbor to neighbor, encouraging fellow Democrats and others to register and vote, results in higher voter turnout and more elections won. In fact, it’s one of the most effective tools we can use. Precinct volunteers are key to identifying inactive and/or unregistered Democrats in the neighborhood and encouraging them to vote in upcoming elections.

To find out if your precinct is organized and how to get involved, go to our precincts page or contact the GCDP office!

Join a GCDP Organization

We encourage all registered and prospective Democrats to join and volunteer in our GCDP auxiliary organizations and help us promote the Democratic Party’s cause.

  • Book Discussion: “The Trouble With Reality” – Hosted by Precinct G13

    September 26, 2017  6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Scuppernong Books, 304 S. Elm Street, Greensboro

Members of Precinct G13 invite members of other precincts to a discussion of “The Trouble With Reality” by NPR Commentator Brooke Gladstone. This meditation on psychology and politics is offered to those who are feeling “an icy hand gripping their viscera” after the last election. Gladstone reflects on why the election turned out the way it did and why many were surprised. Finally she offers some ways to deal with the present reality. The book is short, only 92 pages. It is hoped the discussion will be a community building experience.

If you would like to attend, and would like to receive a study guide, please contact G13 Precinct Chair John York at (336) 508-2432.
