Get Involved with Your Precinct

The precinct is the cornerstone of the North Carolina Democratic Party. Participating at the precinct level offers you opportunities for greater involvement at county, district, and state levels. Precinct leaders serve as delegates to the county convention, submit resolutions, and are eligible to vote for the leadership of the party.

Precincts are also the grassroots of the Democratic Party — local volunteers talking neighbor to neighbor, encouraging fellow Democrats and others to register and vote, results in higher voter turnout and more elections won. In fact, it’s one of the most effective tools we can use. Precinct volunteers are key to identifying inactive and/or unregistered Democrats in the neighborhood and encouraging them to vote in upcoming elections.

To find out if your precinct is organized and how to get involved, go to our precincts page or contact the GCDP office!

Join a GCDP Organization

We encourage all registered and prospective Democrats to join and volunteer in our GCDP auxiliary organizations and help us promote the Democratic Party’s cause.

  • All-In-One Canvass in District 6

    June 21, 2018  5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
    Greensboro Location TBD

Join Indivisible Guilford to canvass a heavily Democratic precinct in Ryan Watts' District of Guilford County (U.S. House District 6). It will be an unorganized precinct similar to the ones canvassed in High Point. Volunteers will pair up and share info about the candidates who will be on their ballot as well as info on how to organize their precinct. By hitting every door, we'll make sure everyone is registered and committed to vote.

If you're new or don't feel comfortable talking, no worries because you'll be paired up with a seasoned canvasser. We'll have a quick training session before we head out. Join us! We always have a great time! Meeting location TBD.
