Voter Eligibility and Requirements

  • Register to vote only in the county where you reside.
  • It is possible to request an absentee ballot.
  • US citizen by birth or naturalization.
  • 18 years of age by the next general election.
  • If convicted of a felony, your citizenship rights must be restored.

Check Your Registration Status

You can check your voter registration status through the state board of elections database.

Your Polling Place

You can find this information through NC Statewide Voter Search. Type in your information and click on your name. It will indicate your polling place.
