***MEETING TO FILL VACANCY ON BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS***
The Guilford County Democratic Party Executive Committee (CEC) will hold a meeting February 17 to fill the unexpired term of the late Guilford County Commissioner Carolyn Q. Coleman. The meeting, which will be held via Zoom, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Only those members of the CEC who live in County Commission District 7 (Coleman’s district) will be able to vote. The meeting will be livestreamed for those who do not live in District 7.

ANTHONY IZZARD

Anthony Izzard is a lifelong resident of Guilford County NC. From Ben L Smith High School to graduating from NC A& T State University. Currently he’s employed as a Fatherhood Coordinator for Focus on Fathers program (Chatham County Public Health) and Proud Fathers United program (Guilford Child Development)
He’s an advocate for the children in Southeastern (Greensboro) Guilford County by volunteering for numerous organizations: Athletic Booster Club at Ben L Smith, Food program at Divine Intervention Community Resources, member of the Greensboro Chapter of NAACP, and a member of Greensboro Parks & Recreation Commission
Anthony has two children Brianna 27 and Brandan 19

FRANKIE JONES, JR.

Frankie T. Jones, Jr., Esq. earned his undergraduate degree from Davidson College and his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from the University of Virginia School of Law. He moved to Greensboro in 2008 to join Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP where he rose to the partnership ranks. He is currently a Vice President in the Investments Department at Lincoln Financial. His local government experience includes Guilford County Planning Board Chairman, Greensboro Zoning Commission, and Piedmont Triad Regional Water Authority. Frankie is a member of several organizations including the NAACP (Silver Life Member). His wife, Ashley, is a Bennett College alumna, a licensed funeral director, and has a Master’s in Public Health.

DOUGLAS (RICK) MORTON

The name is Douglas (Rick) Morton, I was born & raised in Asheville N.C., and I’ve been a resident of Guilford County for the past 30 years. I’ve been married to Candace Morton (attorney) for 26 years and the father of four children.
The last 20 years, I have been a noteworthy leader in the Barber industry as a Barber, Multiple Shop Owner, www.headsupbarberandbeauty.com , License Instructor, and Founder/Organizer for “Heads Up For Our Youth”. www.headsupforouryouth.com . I use the barbering platform as a bridge between resources and the community to Empower the community!
The seat is a natural progression for me.
