***CHAIR’S STATEMENT ON CECIL BROCKMAN***
As Chair of the Guilford County Democratic Party, I want to address the serious concerns that have
recently come to light involving State Representative Cecil Brockman. The Democratic Party is
committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and service to the people of
Guilford County and North Carolina.
We believe that all public officials must be held to the highest ethical standards. At this time, we are
monitoring the situation closely as information continues to emerge. If credible evidence
substantiates the allegations against Representative Brockman, I believe that he should do the right thing
and resign from his position. Our community deserves leaders who demonstrate honesty and
trustworthiness, and we will not hesitate to act in accordance with our values.
The Guilford County Democratic Party remains dedicated to transparency and the well-being of our
constituents. We will continue to follow this matter and respond appropriately as more facts become
available.
