About the guest: Dr. Isaiah McKinnon, known by his friends as “Ike,” is the former Police Chief of Detroit, Michigan. He began as a patrolman in 1965 and was one of the first African Americans hired by the Detroit Police Department. He rose through the ranks while enduring the sting of racism and discrimination within his own department. In 1994, he became Chief of Police for the City of Detroit.
