From the High Point Enterprise:
City of High Point buses will offer free rides on upcoming municipal election days.
High Point Transit will waive fares for all riders on its fixed bus routes, as well as for its dial-a-lift service, on Oct. 10 for the primary and Nov. 7 for the general election.
Fourteen polling places are on city bus routes out of a total of about 42 voting sites that serve High Point residents.
“I think anything we can do to get more people to the polls (is good),” City Councilman Michael Holmes said. “If there are things that are impacting folks from getting to the polls, one thing that shouldn’t be is transportation.”
