There are many questions about what will happen with Cecil Brockman’s seat in the NC House. Here is
the process. Nothing will happen until the seat is vacated by either Brockman’s resignation or by the
House removing him. Once the seat is vacated, the Chair will announce a special County Executive
Committee (CEC) meeting of the ORGANIZED precincts in NC House District 60. Every eligible person
who wishes to run for this seat may do so. The Chair will ask an outside parliamentarian to run the
election. The members of the NC House District 60 CEC will elect the interim H60 Representative. The
name of the winner will be sent to the Governor for his consideration and appointment.
